Begonias delight as outdoor and indoor plants, giving a showy display of colour wherever you choose to plant them. They flourish as houseplants, in hanging baskets or pots, as well as in borders. Multi-layered blooms of white, scarlet, pink or yellow are sometimes trimmed with a deeper or contrasting colour and contrast well with attractive and often variegated foliage. Plant in well-composted soil with good drainage in a light but shady area, out of the direct sun. Don’t overwater, but don’t let them get completely dry. Originally from warm tropical and sub-tropical areas, tuberous Begonias require winter storage in cold areas. All our Begonia’s are grown by ourselves. An old-time favourite, gladioli are usually grown for elegant flower arrangements. They come in a rainbow of colours, and their long stems mean you can grow armloads of flowers in a small space. Gladioli make great cut flowers. Their sword-like foliage and tall, impressive flower spikes, make striking accents in the mixed flower border. They are also key elements in a shrub border and amongst perennials. One of the best flowers for arrangements, lasting’s for weeks or more in the vase under right conditions.

Freesia is a superb bulb flower, both extremely ornamental and fragrant. They are one of the world’s most popular cut flowers. They are loved for their pure colours, long vase life and sweet perfume. The corms may be grown in a garden or in containers for spring or summer blooms. We have been breeding new range of colours and keep with old traditional favourites. Each of the graceful 12”- 15” stems bears six to twelve trumpet-shaped blossoms. The flowers may be single or double and are available in many beautiful colours including white, cream, yellow, orange, red, pink, blue, lavender, purple and bicolours. Stylish Summer Garden Classics.

As different categories of lilies have varying bloom times, it is quite possible to choose a selection of different ones that will keep you in flowers throughout summer. From Asiatic lilies bloom first, followed by Trumpet Lilies and then the Orientals. Lilies like lots of sun and slightly acidic soil with good drainage so they do not stand in the water too long.
