Gladiolas

An old-time favourite, gladioli are usually grown for elegant flower arrangements. They come in a rainbow of colours, and their long stems mean you can grow armloads of flowers in a small space. Gladioli make great cut flowers. Their sword-like foliage and tall, impressive flower spikes, make striking accents in the mixed flower border. They are also key elements in a shrub border and amongst perennials. One of the best flowers for arrangements, lasting’s for weeks or more in the vase under right conditions.

For best garden effect, plant in groups of six or more of a single colour, or grow dozens of them in a bed reserved for cutting. Imagine the luxury. Photographs are taken under our conditions, your conditions may vary.

  • It's a secret treasure, this Gladiolus 'Apple'. The long-spired flower is covered in darker green buds but opens blooms that are the palest lime green. In spite of their pallor, they seem to glow, and stand out clearly against the deeper green of the foliage. This elegant and classy flower seems to whisper it. Yet it's no less beautiful for using the somewhat understated approach. Gladiolus 'Apple' will generously shine its lime light.

  • Frizzled flowers. Their subtle, pale yellow colour should also attract your attention. The erect, slender habit is characteristic for these plants that grow up to 100 cm tall. Flowers develop gradually, extending the flowering period for a long span. Bright blooms of the pinkish/lemon gladiolus will catch your eyes in every flower arrangement, but we suggest to book them a place at the border center, where they would do most of their charm and look.
