The blooms are enormous, double, fragrant, and rose pink, the ruffled petals becoming paler at the edges. These flowers are held aloft, accompanied by the ornate mid-green leaves. The variety can be dated back to the mid 1800's. The blooms of this gorgeous cultivar appear later than many peonies so, if you grow several types, these offer a wonderful continuity of colour. It's a magnificent peony that makes an excellent specimen plant for a partially sunny border. It is also an excellent cut flower!
