It is a traditional Maori pumpkin. It is solid in shape with heavy ribbing. Size of a tennis ball, have a nutty flavour, a speckled green soft skin with white-green flesh and are used like zucchini. Mature kamo kamo have a speckled green hard skin, are about the size of a netball, have a deep white flesh and are used like buttercup squash. They are really good for storing for long period. Maturing time 100 to 130 days approx.
