Has very nutritious leaves that are rich in protein, iron and vitamins with an excellent and distinct flavour. As a table vegetable it is quite the equal of spinach but its main use will probably be a tasty and colorful addition to your salads when picked young. An annual, sow where the plant is to be grown, or start indoors for earlier crops.
